Community Outreach – Bird Identification, Data Collection and Analysis
In October 2020, the Wesleyan Holiness Church Basseterre Young Adults Group successfully received a grant from the Global Environment Facility Small Grant Programme (GEF SGP), to develop local capacity in bird identification, data collection and analysis. Twenty-nine (29) individuals benefited from twenty-four (24) virtual training workshops.
One significant outcome, was the creation of the “BirdersSKN Club”, which will facilitate continuity of the bird monitoring and data collection aspects of project. Since, participant’s interests varied from bird photography, acoustic monitoring and bird watching, this will allow the club to achieve its overarching goal of local bird monitoring. Please like BirdersSKN Facebook Page.
As a culmination to the project, a video was produced to raise awareness to the different aspects of the project and the Club through social media available via the following link:
In addition, in an effort to educate the public of the local birds in St Kitts and Nevis, the Club donated several murals at the Wesleyan Holiness Church Basseterre.

Community Outreach – Scholarship Fund
The Men’s Ministry distributed cash vouchers for a value of $400 to nine (9) students in our external Outreach Sunday School Community (Shadwell Housing, Camps and Taylor’s Housing). The vouchers will be used to purchase textbooks and uniforms for the 2021/2022 Academic school year. See photo of one of the recipients receiving their voucher from Bro. Kevin Morris.

The Basseterre Church donated $10,000 to the Old Road Wesleyan Holiness Church to facilitate completion of the new Sanctuary. The Senior Pastor, Rev. Sylvester Herbert made the presentation to Senior Pastor & St Kitts-Nevis District’s Superintendent – Rev. Spencer Watts, on Sunday, 24 October 2021.

Donation to Charitable Organisations November 2021
The Basseterre Wesleyan Holiness through contributed $6,000 towards the St Kitts District of the Wesleyan Holiness Church’s annual donation to several charitable organizations in St Kitts and Nevis. Below we share a few pics during our visit with the District to Ade’s Place to make the donation.
